Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission Sends Out Hedge Fund Industry Market Risk Survey

The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (“FCIC”) on June 22, 2010, sent its Hedge Fund Industry Market Risk Survey (the “Survey”) to a large number of hedge fund managers. The requests were sent by email from the address “marketrisksurvey@fcic.gov,” and appear to have been sent to the email address of a senior officer (e.g., chief operating officer, general counsel or chief compliance officer) at each manager. In light of the timing of the required response, managers that have not received a request should check to make sure that the email was not inadvertently overlooked by its recipient or is not in the inbox of an employee who is out of the office.
