FSA Proposes to Extend Its Remuneration Code to UK-based Hedge Fund Managers

On 29 July 2010, the United Kingdom’s Financial Services Authority (“FSA”) published a consultation paper setting out proposed revisions to its Remuneration Code (the “Code”). Entitled Revising the Remuneration Code (“CP10/19”), the consultation paper includes updated principles with which many FSA-authorised firms, including most UK-based hedge fund managers (and UK affiliates of US hedge fund managers), will need to comply, if the proposals are approved.
