Allergy and Anaphylaxis Guidelines To Be Issued Soon

The “Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act of 2007” that was signed into law by Governor Spitzer on Aug. 13, 2007, requires the Commissioner of Health and the Commissioner of Education to develop policy guidelines to manage food allergy risks and prevent anaphylaxis resulting from allergic reactions in schools. The guidelines will be issued to schools by July 30, 2008, and all New York schools will be required to develop policies and procedures accordingly.
