SRZ assisted Bayview Financial LP, a mortgage finance company established over two decades ago, with its initial venture in the investment management business through the formation of Bayview Opportunity Master Fund LP, an onshore and offshore “master-feeder” hybrid fund specializing in the mortgage credit sector. SRZ assisted in negotiating a $1.2 billion seed deal with a leading financial institution. The fund contains an innovative mix of private equity and hedge fund terms, including capital commitments to be called down periodically, a definitive term with specified investment and liquidation periods, withdrawal rights, and performance-based compensation. Approximately $2 billion was raised in less than three months, making it one of the few successful launches in the mortgage credit sector post-subprime meltdown.
