Focus on Health Benefits Final HIPAA Portability Regulations

The Department of Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services issued final regulations last year regarding portability of health coverage under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA"). The final regulations do not significantly change the interim 1997 rules, but there are several new elements that require action by plan sponsors.
