Dominique Padilla Gallego, a partner in the New York office, focuses her practice on U.S. federal income tax matters relating to investment funds, financial products and structured finance transactions.
After obtaining her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines, in 1992, Dominique earned a J.D., cum laude and valedictorian, from Ateneo de Manila University in Manila in 1998, and an LL.M. in International Taxation from New York University School of Law in 2001. In 2000, she received the prestigious AT&T Asia Pacific Leadership Award. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Dominique is often invited to speak at industry conferences and events. At the ABA’s 2009 Joint Fall CLE Meeting, Dominique presented on "Tax Issues with Respect to Redemptions and Transfers of Partnership Interests" and she recently participated in an SRZ webinar on “Participating in Public-Private Investment Funds Sponsored by the U.S. Treasury and Updates on TALF.” Other topics she has spoken on include the tax aspects of distressed investing and developments in structured products and derivatives.
