Given the focus by both the US securities regulators and investors on high-profile hedge fund meltdowns, such as Manhattan Investment Fund, Lipper, Beacon Hill and Lancer, more and more efforts are being made to assert jurisdiction in US Courts over hedge fund managers, administrators, auditors and other service providers to offshore hedge funds, regardless of where the managers of service providers are located.
