Julian M. Wise is a partner in the New York office. His practice covers a broad range of commercial real estate transactions including joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties, acquisitions and dispositions of mortgage and mezzanine debt, commercial mortgage and mezzanine financing, real estate workouts and restructurings and bankruptcies (representing lenders and borrowers on both the equity and debt sides). His clients include major financial and commercial lending institutions, and developers and owners of commercial, industrial, retail, office, hotel, resort, large-scale residential and mixed-use properties. Some of his significant representations include: a major national owner/developer in its acquisition and recapitalization and financing (including negotiation of the joint venture agreement) of 230 Park Avenue (the Helmsley Building) in New York City; a major national owner/developer in connection with one of the highest-priced “single asset” property sales in New York City history; and an investment fund in connection with its acquisition of a major automotive manufacturer (a transaction that was secured by real estate and other assets located across the United States).
