New York State Mandates "Green" Cleaning

On October 12, 2005, Governor Pataki announced the signing of a bill that requires both public and nonpublic New York elementary and secondary schools to use environmen-tally sensitive cleaning and maintenance products. The legislation seeks to "reduce as much as possible exposure of children and school staff to potentially harmful chemicals and substances used in the cleaning and maintenance of schools."
