Notice of Creditable Coverage - A New Requirement for Group Health Plans

If you sponsor a group health plan, you have an obligation to distribute notices to certain participants with respect to Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage, even if you do not sponsor a retiree health plan. We previously alerted you to employers' obligations pursuant to the new Medicare Part D prescription drug rules. We now call your attention to the upcoming deadline — employers are generally required to provide a "Notice of Creditable Coverage" to certain individuals by November 15, 2005.
