Regulators Investigating Market Rumors

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), the New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”) and the U.K. Financial Services Authority (“FSA”) reportedly are investigating whether market participants are spreading negative, false rumors about certain financial institutions in order to profit from the impact those rumors have on the institution’s stock price.
