SEC Sets Fee Rate for Fiscal Year 2009

On April 30, 2008, the Securities and Exchange Commission announced its filing fees for fiscal 2009. Registrants registering securities for sale under the Securities Act will be required to pay a fee of $55.80 per million dollars of securities registered. The fee rate for fiscal 2009 is a 42% increase from the current rate of $39.30 per million dollars of securities registered. The new rate will become effective on the later of October 1, 2008 or 5 days after the date on which the SEC receives its fiscal year 2009 regular appropriation from Congress.
