Summary of Proposed Volcker Rule Regulation — Proprietary Trading

Yesterday, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency each issued a joint Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to implement the Volcker Rule, which the Securities and Exchange Commission also issued today. This Alert summarizes the proposed regulation as it would affect a banking entity’s ability to engage in proprietary trading.
