Agreements to arbitrate or to engage in other forms of Alternate Dispute Resolution ("ADR"), such as mediation, have become increasingly common in national and international contracts. There has been a corresponding upward trend over the past few years in the number of disputes filed with the American Arbitration Association ("AAA"), the National Association of Securities Dealers ("NASD"), the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") and the International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC"), among other arbitral institutions. We have broad and deep ADR experience before those bodies, particularly in complex commercial, securities, international and professional liability matters.
