Work Assignments

Our summer program is designed to provide our summer associates with a realistic sense of practicing law. We emphasize giving our summer associates "real work" typical of that done by a first-year or second-year attorney.

Our assignment system affords our summer associates the opportunity to experience a broad spectrum of our practice areas and lawyers. Summer associates participate in client meetings, depositions, closings and trials, giving them a chance to experience the type of work they will handle as their careers advance.

We provide continuous feedback to summer associates and emphasize training on the job. We ensure that all attorneys give summer associates detailed feedback on each completed assignment. All written work is reviewed by the attorneys in charge of our summer program. In addition, our summer associates receive formal evaluations of their work mid-summer and at the end of the summer program.

Summer associates are paired with junior associate buddies and partner advisors to assist them in day-to-day activities, and members of our Summer Program Committee also serve as mentors.
