Corporate Social Responsibility

SRZ believes in providing a positive and inclusive environment for our personnel, supporting our local communities and minimizing the firm’s impact on the environment. We pride ourselves on the high professional and ethical standards at which we operate, and this applies as much to the approach that we take to corporate social responsibility as it does to the legal services we provide our clients. The following are some key areas of our program:

Community Involvement
In addition to our groundbreaking and established pro bono legal services, SRZ sponsors and participates in a number of charitable, cultural and social events. We make a serious commitment to give back to the communities where we live and work, and to support our clients in their involvements.

Charitable Giving
SRZ’s Charitable Contributions Committee oversees the firm’s significant contributions to hundreds of diverse causes. In the days following 9/11, the firm’s Charitable Contributions Committee established the SRZ Disaster Relief Fund. Since then, the firm has given generously to victims of disasters around the world, such as the earthquake in Haiti, the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and Hurricane Katrina in the United States. We also regularly participate in charitable events such as donation-based dress down days and holiday gift collection for underprivileged children.

SRZ’s firm-wide green initiatives, with the objective of reducing the firm’s carbon footprint, involve active participation in programs offered by the landlords of our office buildings, as well as the continual review and modification of firm practices, policies and procurement procedures. Such changes have led to a significant decrease in paper use, promotion of alternative transportation and a reduction of building energy use.
