Historic Tulsa Race Massacre News and Updates

Last Known Living Survivors Added to Historic Tulsa Race Massacre Lawsuit

In a major step forward for the historic Tulsa Race Massacre lawsuit, a 76-page amended petition has been filed in the suit, adding two previously-unknown living survivors of the Massacre, featuring depositions from two of the lead plaintiffs, and marking the formal entry of appearance of several SRZ lawyers who have joined the legal team representing the plaintiffs, among other significant developments.

How and Why Schulte Signed on to the Public Nuisance Suit Over the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre

Schulte has announced that the firm has joined a legal team of civil and human rights attorneys who are suing local governments, the Oklahoma National Guard and other officials on behalf of survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, seeking to “remedy the ongoing nuisance” caused by the mob attack which leveled much of the 40-square-block Greenwood community in Tulsa, left hundreds of Black residents dead and thousands homeless.

Schulte Roth & Zabel Joins Historic Tulsa Race Massacre Lawsuit

On May 31, 1921, one of the worst acts of domestic terrorism in U.S. history decimated Tulsa’s thriving, all-Black community of Greenwood, and the devastating effects of this massacre are still felt to this day. SRZ is proud to announce that it has joined a team of civil and human rights lawyers led by Tulsa-based attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons who are seeking justice for the wrongs that continue to plague the Greenwood community.

Schulte Stands with the Asian Community

Schulte has joined the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) and members of the legal and business communities to denounce anti-Asian hate, violence and racism.

Schulte Earns a Perfect Score for LGBTQ Workplace Equality

Schulte again received a 100 rating, a perfect score, on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index, a national benchmarking survey and report that rates workplaces on LGBTQ equality.

Schulte is a proud sponsor of the 2020 Vault and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association Law Firm Diversity Survey, a leading advocate for the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys. The project and database provide a window into what law firms are doing to ensure equal opportunities.
