Peter White and Schulte Team Recognized as Litigators of the Week

SRZ received significant recognition this week for the firm’s successful pro bono defense of Baltimore attorney Keith Ravenell. Included as a runner-up in this competitive column, lead attorney Peter White and his team were honored for securing an acquittal of six of seven felony charges in the District of Maryland, including money laundering and related charges stemming from his representation of individuals charged with narcotics trafficking.

In light of the U.S. Attorney’s attempt to criminalize innocuous defense activities, SRZ took this representation to prevent an injustice that would have reverberated throughout the criminal defense bar. If not vigorously defended, criminalizing ordinary defense practices as the government sought here would have had a severely detrimental effect on the exercise of Sixth Amendment rights by those facing criminal charges.
