Schulte Roth & Zabel Adds Leading Transactional and Private Equity Funds Partner to London Office
June 13, 2012
Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP is pleased to announce the addition of James "Jim" McNally as a partner in Schulte Roth & Zabel International LLP.
Mr. McNally was a part of Dewey & LeBoeuf's global private equity team led by Joseph Smith, who joined SRZ in New York in May 2012 (see SRZ Press Release dated 15 May 2012). Mr. McNally provides advice on corporate transactional and private equity fund matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, fund formation and financings. Mr. McNally trained at magic circle firm Slaughter and May.
"We are pleased that Jim will continue to serve our European-based clients on partnership and transactional matters. SRZ is getting a highly talented lawyer, and his inclusion on the SRZ investment fund platform in London will help our European practice grow," said Mr. Smith, who served as the chair for Dewey & LeBoeuf's private equity practice group.
"Jim adds greater partner-level depth to our already substantial London based capabilities," commented Christopher Hilditch, partner and head of the London practice.
"Jim not only will provide continuity for former Dewey & LeBoeuf clients, but his experience in private equity and transactional matters solidifies our global leadership position with managers of investment funds," said Steven Fredman, co-chair of the firm’s investment management group.
SRZ is actively involved in every aspect of the private equity investment process, from the formation of leveraged buyout, distressed debt and equity, special situations, real estate, venture capital, and other private equity and mezzanine funds, to the representation of these funds and other private equity investors in making investments, through realisation events, including sale or public offerings. The firm's broad client base includes private equity investment funds running the gamut of investment strategies, including leveraged buyout, distressed investing, venture capital, middle market, crossover and mezzanine debt, and industry-specific, including real estate, media, telecom, biotech, energy, financial services and healthcare. More than a dozen SRZ partners and more than 20 special counsel and associates focus on private equity fund formation, and a substantial portion of SRZ's transactional matters involve the representation of private equity and real estate fund clients.
