Schulte Secures Release of a Terminally Ill Client in Partnership with the Innocence Project
February 2022
Schulte is honored to have partnered with the Innocence Project to secure the early release of our terminally ill client after 27 years of incarceration. A ruling in New Hampshire state court granted a motion filed by the Innocence Project and SRZ to suspend the remainder of our client’s sentence.
As a result of the diligence of the Innocence Project and Schulte, our client will be able to live out the remainder of his life with his family. This is a significant victory for not just our client, but for the larger role of discretion in criminal sentencing.
The SRZ team consisted of Litigation Special Counsel Aislinn K. Affinito and Associate Steven R. Fisher, and Finance & Derivatives Law Clerk Mitchell E. McCloy.
SRZ has partnered with the Innocence Project for more than 15 years to render pro bono legal services and looks forward to our continued this partnership in the future.
