Schulte Represents Murray Energy in FirstEnergy Solutions’ Chapter 11 Restructuring

Schulte successfully represented Murray Energy Corporation and its affiliates in litigation stemming from FirstEnergy Solutions’ Chapter 11 restructuring. The court sided with Murray Energy and denied debtor FirstEnergy Solutions’ motion to reject a coal supply agreement between FirstEnergy Generation LLC and Murray Energy’s subsidiaries without also rejecting a related coal combustion residuals disposal agreement. Murray Energy has approximately 6,000 employees and currently operates 13 active coal mines.
