SRZ Assists Hudson Bay Master Fund Ltd. in Financing of Alfalfa Acquisition

SRZ represented Hudson Bay Master Fund Ltd. in a financing that will partially fund the acquisition by S&W Seed Company of DuPont Pioneer’s alfalfa production and research facility assets, as well as conventional (non-GMO) alfalfa germplasm. The $42-million acquisition closed on Dec. 31. S&W Seed Company is the largest “non-dormant” alfalfa seed company in the world, and DuPont Pioneer is a leading developer and supplier of advanced plant genetics. Hudson Bay Master Fund Ltd. participated in one of two sources of financing that S&W is using to raise $31.7 million to complete the purchase of DuPont Pioneer’s alfalfa research and production business.
