Founding Partner William Zabel Presents Beacon Prize to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy

Founding partner and chair of Human Rights First William D. Zabel presented the organization’s Beacon Prize to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy on Dec. 9, 2015 in Washington, D.C. The Beacon Prize honors Justice Kennedy’s leadership in interpreting and applying the law to advance human dignity and freedom. Bill played a key role in the landmark 1967 Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia that put an end to race-based bans on marriage. He and Justice Kennedy were classmates at Harvard Law School.
