In “Social Investing Redux: Obama Administration Changes Course,” a recent article published by Law360, partner Mark E. Brossman discusses details of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Interpretive Bulletin 2015-01, which provides guidance to ERISA fiduciaries “when considering economically targeted investments (ETIs) and investment strategies that take into account environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors.” The bulletin is part of an initiative by the Obama administration to encourage “impact investing.”
