SRZ Partner Ben Kozinn Quoted in Pensions & Investments 

Schulte Roth & Zabel partner Ben Kozinn was featured in a recent Pensions & Investments article titled “Silicon Valley Bank Collapse Could Turn Some VCs Into Zombies.” 

Ben commented on the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and its impact on venture capital firms. Specifically, he reacted to assurances provided by the new bank's CEO Tim Mayopoulos, following their takeover by First Citizen Bank, who, in part, stated that they are “fully honoring existing credit facilities” and acquiring “substantially all loans” from Silicon.  

Ben noted that despite those assurances, some private equity managers were shopping around and “evaluating which lenders they are using for their subscription facilities. Managers should be carefully evaluating their overall counterparty (lender) arrangements at the management company, fund and portfolio company level and ensuring that they are comfortable with the safety and soundness of such counterparties.”
