New York State Eliminates Annual Wage Notice
March 3, 2015
On Dec. 29, 2014, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law a bill that amends the New York State Wage Theft Prevention Act, N.Y. Lab. Law § 195, in various aspects, including eliminating the annual wage notices that employers were required to provide to employees in January each year. Employers must still provide employees with the wage-theft notice at the time of hire and when information in the notice changes. In this article, SRZ partners Mark E. Brossman, Ronald E. Richman and Holly H. Weiss, special counsel Scott A. Gold and associate Adam B. Gartner provide an overview of the amendments.
