Schulte Roth & Zabel (SRZ) is pleased to announce that Abbey Walsh has rejoined the firm as special counsel in the Business Reorganization Group, resident in the New York office. Ms. Walsh most recently served as counsel at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York.
Ms. Walsh represents and advises a wide range of domestic and foreign clients, including financial creditors, companies, equity sponsors and purchasers, in all aspects of Chapter 11 and 15 cases, out-of-court restructurings, and U.S. insolvency laws.
“We are thrilled to have Abbey back at SRZ. She brings a range of complex corporate restructuring experience and a sophisticated practice,” commented Adam Harris, chair of SRZ’s Business Reorganization Group.
“Abbey is a highly skilled practitioner and an excellent addition to our restructuring team. We’re delighted to have her back at the firm,” said Alan Waldenberg, chair of the firm’s Executive Committee.
SRZ’s Business Reorganization Group has a leading practice representing key players in some of the most significant bankruptcy and restructuring deals in the industry. Lawyers in the group provide critical counsel to domestic, foreign and international secured creditors, unsecured creditors, ad hoc groups, debtor-in-possession lenders, acquirers, equity holders, plan sponsors and others in Chapter 11 reorganizations and out-of-court workouts. They regularly advise on acquisitions and divestitures of troubled companies and their assets. The firm also counsels clients on litigation finance opportunities and how the bankruptcy overlay impacts this particularized form of litigation finance.
“My time at Schulte was marked by cutting-edge restructuring and cross-practice deals with lawyers well known for their market-leading counsel. I am very excited to be working alongside them again. It’s great to be back,” said Ms. Walsh, who holds a J.D. from NYU School of Law and a B.S. from Binghamton University.
