Schulte Roth & Zabel announces the addition of Gregory L. Kinzelman as special counsel in the M&A and Securities Group. He is resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Kinzelman joins the firm from Hunton & Williams.

Mr. Kinzelman advises on mergers and acquisitions for private equity and hedge funds. He has extensive experience with public and private transactions, both domestic and international. Specifically, he advises on Hart-Scott-Rodino Act compliance for complex transactions, including on Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice regulations and procedures. In addition, he focuses his practice on pre-merger counseling and preparation of planning strategies for managing filings and second requests. Mr. Kinzelman also has significant experience successfully guiding foreign purchasers of U.S. businesses through the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) process.

“We are delighted to welcome Greg to the firm. He is a highly skilled lawyer and he brings a great depth of experience in competition and CFIUS matters,” commented Stuart D. Freedman, co-chair of SRZ’s M&A and Securities Group. “Greg is an excellent addition to our group. He has a stellar reputation for providing strategic antitrust compliance counsel on complex deals,” said Richard A. Presutti, co-chair of the M&A and Securities Group.

“We are pleased to have Greg join our robust corporate practice. His background and high-level expertise will further deepen our bench,” stated Alan S. Waldenberg, chair of SRZ’s Executive Committee.

“Schulte is recognized in the industry for its leading M&A practice. I am thrilled to be working alongside these talented lawyers,” said Mr. Kinzelman, who served as Trial Attorney for the Federal Trade Commission, Bureau of Competition, in Washington, D.C. from 1994 to 1997. He holds an M.A. in economics and history from Oxford University, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

SRZ’s M&A transactions have been consistently recognized as “Deals of the Year” by industry publications. Recent high-profile matters handled by SRZ include:
