In the second quarter of 2014, SRZ commissioned Mergermarket to interview senior corporate executives and activist investors from the United States and, for the first time, Europe about their experience with shareholder activism in their respective regions and their expectations for activity in the next 12 to 24 months. The result is a report that provides insight into the numerous and wide-ranging drivers behind the continuing rise in the volume of activist campaigns.

The report provides deep analysis of the issues impacting activism and unveils expectations for activity in 2015 and beyond. Marc Weingarten, SRZ partner and co-head of the firm’s global shareholder activism practice, along with partners Jim McNally, Eleazer Klein and Michael E. Swartz and former SRZ attorney David E. Rosewater, contributed to the report.

Serving activists, “occasional activists” and issuers, the firm has a preeminent shareholder activism practice with an unparalleled expertise in applicable securities laws, proxy rules and the current state of market practice and has been counsel in many of the highest-profile activist matters in recent years.
